State of the Union

Get ready for the president to tell you that the average American will benefit from his Reagan-era-like tax cuts. He probably won't mention how he arrives at "average" or that his plan will likely add over a trillion dollars to our national debt.

Before you dream up ways to spend your $500, $800, $1000, or whatever number the administration decides to present as what the "average" American will get, keep this in mind: a full 50% of all Americans will receive less than $100 of tax relief from the Bush Tax cut. By contrast someone with an annual income of $1 million will receive in excess of $90,000 in tax relief. Do you really think Bush cares about average Americans? Nope. But do you wanna bet that he hopes that the average American doesn't know a thing about mathematical averages? *He* thinks* you're stupid. That's unimaginationable!

please note: the figures used above came from reports published from a conglomerate of reviews of the Bush plan. Here is one source for a more detailed review.

I think it would be cool to have a site that you could enter a word into and it would give you the proper way(s) to abbreviate the word. Anyone know of something like this? Do any of the dictionary sites do this?
