Media Consumption

For a long time now I have had a fascination with stories and storytelling. I placed an early emphasis on books and television (obviously as I am American) but recently have been more interested in film and the experience of seeing a movie. Some of my favorite memories from my childhood (and even now) involve being read to, reading, and watching films.

To a great extent my experiences with the media I consume are based on discussing those experiences with others. To that end, I have always been interested in the thoughts of others' in relation to mine and how people take in, digest, and make conclusions about and, more importantly, from the media they consume. I have, in one way or another, had a somewhat public outlet for sharing my thoughts and opinions on my media consumption habits since near the onset of this here world wide web.

My first such site, aberratum.com (defunct) (oh to have that $70 and the opportunity cost of that domain purchase back - there were still tons of real single word domains names available and they even had vowels!) let me post about all manner of things, including what I was reading, listening to, and seeing. Then there was (and it may come back at some point) was Ben On Film - a little review site that even managed to get some local press. aberratum.com gave way to aberro.com (also defunct) and now (nearly) all such ramblings of mine reside here at Alt Text.
