Verizon's SongID is a pretty sweet concept.

Ever hear a song on the radio or in a store that you like but don't know the title? Verizon's V CAST SongID can listen to it and tell you what it is. Aside from visual voicemail and convergence (ala iPhone) this is a pretty innovative way to use your phone. I hope we see more ways in which our devices can help us interact with the real world, instead of keeping us apart from it.

Awesome Arcade Fire performance in a Parisian freight elevator

In addition to the Arcade Fire videos, the The Shins videos are pretty great.

French beat-boxer is awesome

Obviously this man appearing on what appears to be the French version of American Idol is a fan of Rahzel. I think he does some things that would impress even him.

Buy and download Cloud Cult's new CD

Special web offer: only $10. See their new video for Chemicals Collide Also, as you take a look at the site, you can see many of the photos I took at a recent show in Minneapolis.

UPDATE: After listening to the album several times I am convinces that Cloud Cult is now poised to make it much bigger. It is really great and I am happy for them as they seem to be truly nice people and are doing the business-side of this music stuff right.

If anyone asks you what YouTube is all about, just send them this.

In fact, if people ask you any number of questions, just send them there.

What a Honda sounds like.

A choir makes the sound effects for a Honda ad. If they do all those sounds they are amazing.

Ukulele rendition of The Beatles's While My Guitar Gently Weeps.

This is amazing. By the end i was wondering how his fingers (or even the ukulele) were even holding up to that kind of playing. Also, who knew there was an active ukulele scene on the web. Don't bother with most of the videos at ukuleledisco.com as there is mostly bad comedy to be found (the ukulele sort of lends itself to bad comedy, doesn't it?) Jesus Chrysler by the Ukuleleman is a rare exception.

I am becoming a Gnarles Barkley fan, especially with performances like this.

Exposing the Leftist agenda in Country Music

Johnny Cash, Man in Black. “I wear the black for the poor and the beaten down, Livin' in the hopeless, hungry side of town, I wear it for the prisoner who has long paid for his crime, But is there because he's a victim of the times.” Is there any more of a left-wing sentiment than caring for your fellow man?

Pretty funny wrap up of American Idol (for non-fans)

Great Natalie Portman rap from Saturday's SNL

Just about the only thing worth watching on Saturday Night Live lately has been the pre-recorded segments like the stuff that the Lonely Island kids are doing. NOTE: watch this video soon as You Tube is cracking down hard on copyrighted material. UPDATE: Perhaps this will be a more permanent spot to see this video (or at least higher quality)

UPDATE: I changed the link above. It seems NBC is sending out Cease and Desisits like Christmas cards. I would like to echo the sentiments of this guy:

Lazy Sunday is one of the most virulent of viral media I've seen in years. It literally was on nearly every site I frequent. I watched it at YouTube, and went back to view it on YouTube several times and gave the URL to friends. This sparked the discussion of whether SNL was finally "not sucking" anymore. Get the idea? People were talking about one of your shows, one which hasn't been, you know, funny in years.

I wish I could say I have never been there

This video is pretty funny, probably not as funny for my wife though.

Lazy Monday

There have been a lot of copycat videos made of the SNL Chronic-les of Narnia skit. Here are a few in the order of work put into them:

Two guys attempt to represent the West coast with a rebuttal to the SNL version. "Yo, Red Vines is west coast like Tupac Shakizzler, so step off our licorice and suck on a Twizzler! " - Why does the curly-haired guy look familiar? Oh yeah, that's Mark Feuerstein who I recognize from his appearances on the West Wing.

Two 11-year old kids, their dad, and a copy of iMovie.

Teen girls try their hand at video making.

Ditto here, but with less editing/effort.

A stationary lip-syncing version.

The next Avril Lavigne in the making?

How much you wanna bet that this girl gets a record deal a couple years into the future? In a couple years will people be scouring YouTube for the next stars?
